CURLOPT_TIMEOUT is one of the accepted parameters for curl_setopt parameter #2.
CURLOPT_TIMEOUT — The maximum number of seconds to allow cURL functions to execute.
Defaults to 0, meaning that functions never time out during transfer.
Available as of cURL 7.1.0.
