CURLOPT_PRIVATE is one of the accepted parameters for curl_setopt parameter #2.
CURLOPT_PRIVATE — Any data that should be associated with this cURL handle. This data
can subsequently be retrieved with the
CURLINFO_PRIVATE option of
curl_getinfo. cURL does nothing with this data.
When using a cURL multi handle, this private data is typically a
unique key to identify a standard cURL handle.
