CURLOPT_MAXCONNECTS

CURLOPT_MAXCONNECTS is one of the accepted parameters for curl_setopt parameter #2.

CURLOPT_MAXCONNECTS — The maximum amount of persistent connections that are allowed. When the limit is reached, the oldest one in the cache is closed to prevent increasing the number of open connections. This option accepts any value that can be cast to a valid int. Available as of cURL 7.7.0.
